Winter getaway.

As a very proud Melbourne girl I live for the chill mostly for the fashion, some part for the realisation and being ok that endless days at the beach are not in our beautiful cities agenda so you live to love our 4 seasons as unpredictable as they are.

As European summer images sweep across our screens we long for holidays where days are unplanned and backdrops and photogenic opportunities are effortlessly surrounding.

Not as far as Italy and so humble in her beauty we take an opportunity of a spontaneous trip to one of Australia’s most iconic locations, Byron Bay. Nick and I married in  the Byron Hinterland almost 9 years ago so it is a special place for us and our family. We try to make it here at least one a year to keep traditions going and share this beautiful place with our babies.

Winter in Byron is my favourite time to visit. Sun drenched afternoons, beach visits (Melbourne blood has 20 degrees feeling more 26. Climatised locals in wetsuits).

Our city life left behind and swapped for visits to ‘The Farm’ and walks around the seasonally quiet and simple streets. Brunch daily after lazy mornings in our Cottage as we live like locals and see how easy it could be to make more frequent visits.

Day trips to the photogenic and fabulous Halcyon house in Cabarita Beach and stepping away into the quiet and stunning town of Bangalow.

Rejuvenating with simple pleasures and spending uninterrupted time with our family.

Europe can wait.
