A day in my amazing home town as if I were visiting. When I travel even just interstate I make an effort to do a travel guide and a full story on the new city and places I am visiting yet I don’t do so in my own city (and it’s the best in the world). I am such Melbournian and it shows when I do leave my city as I am so proud to say this is place I call home.
I have done a mini tour of a day in my beautiful city with My Domaine and suitably Melbourne’s own Country Road. My favourite places to shop, eat and play that will only touch the surface of everything it has to offer but an intro and I leave you to explore.
The sights. Melbourne is all about the Fashion, Dining, Coffee, Sport and discovering our lane ways and beautiful Architecture. Shopping in the CBD within the beautiful buildings and laneways is not to be missed but you have to stop and take in the history and sights on the way there. The State Library is the first stop for coffee and a walk through.
You also must go to the MCG to see an AFL match (of course with Collingwood playing) even if you don’t support AFL its an amazing experience and so Melbourne of you. Off season visit during the Australian open the city is alive.

Fashion is what Melbourne does best. When you think of Melbourne style black is always in the description as we like it simple and chic with denim, basics and layers at out heart. The city is a mecca for everything you need with flagship stores and iconic department stores offering the best in fashion. Start in Bourke street with Myer and David Jones, Acne, Cos, Zara and H&M (In the amazing GPO building). Little Collins street boutiques and my favourite store Marais. The Modern elevated shopping hub at The Emporium and the Iconic and historic Melbourne Central clock tower. Next is St Collins Lane for some unique stores such as Maje, Reiss, Sandro and Furla. Step outside and visit Tiffany & Co on Collins St whilst in this area.
The Paris end of Collins street makes all your designer dreams come true with Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermes to name a few. If you are shopping for the investment pieces this is place to do it.
A short trip outside the city give you boutique shopping with High street Armadale one of the best. Newly opened Rebecca Vallence, Scanlan & Theodore, Viktoria & Woods and Bassike. Chapel street and Toorak road with a beautiful Country Road store on the corner of Toorak and Chapel st.
THE APARTMENT STKILDA –
Live like a local in a true rustic and urban way in the beautiful ‘The Apartment Stkilda’ styled by Lynda Gardener. A short trip to the CBD or stay local and beachside and enjoy one of Melbourne’s most iconic venues Stokehouse and the perfect spot for a frosé in summer at Pontoon.
Melbourne people have an understated vibe and we are all about the undone and less is more so you will fit right in.

This gets very hard to narrow down. We are so lucky to have the amazing wining and dining experience that we do in Melbourne. From the Cafe culture to the cocktails we are spoilt. You need a whole week at least to experience a few of the best or just make more regular visits!
Walk the laneways of the city and you will stumble across cute cafes and bars and most of the time the best ones are those hidden and boutique.

Style doesn’t end in the fashion department and Melbourne is home to some of Australia’s most talented designers and artists. As you know I am all about a lifestyle and a mission to create and live a beautiful styled life. Shopping is an experience and some of the following will allow you to immerse yourself in the brand and lifestyle they breathe. Fitzroy is the quintessential Melbourne hub. Urban and has a quiet confidence. Aesop – proudly claiming them as locals have their beautiful stores all over the world and all just as good as the next. The Fitzroy store is one of the best. Cult Perfumery Le Labo recently opened a store in this hood to have the holistic Le Labo experience and blend a personalised fragrance in store.
If like me plants are everything in your life. As a visitor not the best item to shop for but the experience is well worth a visit. Learn and love your indoor greenery. Ivy Muse, Loose Leaf and Cool Cactus are your must see’s.
